Fans watched the Caldwell Chiefs and the Pontiac Godfathers fight to the finish.
Caldwell Chiefs starter Apia Manumakalii turned in a sterling performance against the Pontiac Godfathers, leading his team to a slim 3-2 win. Earning his 16th save of the year was Norbert van Poppel.
Caldwell took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Bennett Walker hit a run-scoring single to make it 3-2, Chiefs.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said Walker. "Just do my job."
With the victory, the Chiefs upped their record to 26-24.
