Sackett, Godfathers Get 3-1 Win
|
The Pontiac Godfathers topped the Caldwell Chiefs, 3-1, in M3L Single A action at Pontiac Copperdome. The standout performance belonged to Pontiac pitcher and Birmingham, Alabama, native John Sackett. Vicente Arroyo picked up the save, his 10th. The victory makes Pontiac 17-32.
Sackett was effective for Pontiac, seldom allowing the Chiefs to square up a pitch. The right-hander tossed 90 pitches over 8 innings. He limited Caldwell to just 1 run on 4 hits.
Sackett called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
