Generals Score Late, Top Bulls, 3-2
|
Belleville got a big-time effort from pitcher Tyler Jelbert, but it wasn't enough to keep the Washington Generals from winning the game, 3-2. Jelbert threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Reliever Alden Arrington picked up the win. His record improves to 2-2. Dominique Leclère took the loss. Earning his 6th save of the year was Daniel Goodhew.
It could have been a different outcome for Washington, had it not been for Winston Stewart, the 24-year old third baseman . Stewart contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the ninth inning to put Washington up, 3-2.
"You get some opportunities, you better take advantage of them," said Belleville manager Steve Bryan.
The triumph puts Washington at 20-19 for the season.
