Caldwell Defeated by Mancelona, 3-1

The Mancelona Torch and Caldwell Chiefs played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
The Mancelona Torch knocked off the Caldwell Chiefs, 3-1, at Torch Field. Christophe Bouet was a big reason Mancelona won. The shortstop was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Nathan Mitchell, the winning pitcher, improved to 2-4. He pitched 6 innings, giving up 6 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Gerjan Wemerman recorded the save, his 1st.
Early in the game, Bouet had a 3-run home run for Mancelona. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Torch on top, 3-0.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Bouet. "And not try to do too much."
Mancelona occupies 11th place in the Menard's A at 13-22.
