Streaking Screaming Eagles Win Another One, 6-3
|
The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles beat the Athletic Club KC Academy, 6-3, at Mercer Island Grounds. The win was due in part to catcher Leon Wright, who went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Gustavo Carrillo, the winner, improved to 5-1. He held Athletic Club KC Academy to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. This win makes it 7 in a row for Mercer Island.
In the bottom of the sixth, Wright put his team in front with his 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which came against Rick Drake, made it 5-3, Mercer Island.
