Hacking Helps Hops Beat Pierogis, 8-7
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Lenny Hacking, the Yakima Hops defeated the Squirrel Hill Pierogis, 8-7. Hacking hit 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Hops. Yakima reliever Thomas Brown picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Jack Herer took the loss. Yakima, now 31-62, holds down last place in the Premier AA.

The most important at-bat for Yakima came in the top of the ninth inning. With two out, António Sáenz reached on an error by the 1B, driving in 1 run, putting Yakima up, 8-7.

"We got the victory," said Sáenz. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
