Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Thunder Hawks
|
Ft. Polk South got a first-rate effort from pitcher Morgan Cartier, who frustrated Gulf Coast hitters en route to a 3-1 Thunder Hawks triumph at Mobile Home Park. Jorge Salas earned his 5th save in 5 chances. The Thunder Hawks saw their win-loss record go to 38-51. At the same time, the Turbeaus fell to 48-41.
Ft. Polk South used the timely hitting of José Rosário to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Thunder Hawks on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"It was our day today," Rosário told the Ft. Polk South Chronicle. "But we've got to keep our nose to the grindstone."
