In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.

The Virginia Beach Whales went home winners at Field of the Krewe, thanks in large part to starter Dave Jeffries. Jeffries stifled the Crescent City Krewe, enabling Virginia Beach to grab the 4-0 win. The 6th-place Whales are now 43-45, the Krewe 54-34.

Chris Thompson, the 25-year old center fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Thompson contributed a bases-clearing double in the top of the ninth inning to put Virginia Beach up, 4-0.

In comments to the Virginia Beach Times, Jeffries admitted that he doesn't always push himself. "But the results," he said, "speak for themselves."
