Mercer Island shortstop Sotaro Hayagawa had a 3-RBI performance, which helped his team down the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas, 7-3. Mercer Island reliever Todd Huff picked up the win to move to 5-1. Clay Perkins suffered the loss. Mercer Island, now 49-31, holds down first place in the Premier AA.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the sixth when Hayagawa hit a 2-run single. It propelled the Screaming Eagles into the lead, 4-2.

"Today was a lot of fun," said Hayagawa.
