Lau Slugs Mockingbirds to 8-1 Win
The 8-1 Mississippi win over Pittsburgh was due in large part to Ai-de Lau. The Mockingbirds center fielder went 3 for 4 with 2 home runs and was hit by a pitch, while adding 6 RBI and scoring twice. Noud Taaij, the winning pitcher, improved to 15-4. He pitched 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Eric Blevins earned his 5th save in 8 chances.

With Mississippi leading 4-1 in the top of the ninth, Lau hit a fastball from Cipriano Rosas for a grand slam home run. It was his 25th home run of the season and put the Mockingbirds ahead, 8-1.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Lau told the Mississippi Bulletin.

The victory gives Mississippi a record of 54-46.
