Led by Bill Strong, the Ithaca Fighting Imps defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 9-4. Strong went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2 for the Fighting Imps. Ángel Hernández got the save, the 1st for him this season. The 8th-place Fighting Imps have won 4 in a row.

Ithaca used a well-timed hit by Takeo Okamoto to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Fighting Imps ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 5 at-bats, it was important.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Strong told the Ithaca Gazette.
