Gulf Coast Gets Riveting Walk-Off Win
People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.

Virginia Beach got a terrific performance from pitcher Dave Jeffries, but it wasn't enough to beat the Gulf Coast Turbeaus. Gulf Coast won the Mobile Home Park contest, 3-2. Jeffries threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball for the losing team. The winner was Cenek Stensel in relief. His record improves to 5-2. Edgard Mendoza took the loss.

In the bottom of the tenth, Kieron Mandala had a chance to deal the knockout blow. And he did, punching a run-scoring walk to center off Virginia Beach pitcher Carlos Martínez.

"This was one of those 'not to be denied' games," said Gulf Coast field general Soseki Matsunaga.

The win makes Gulf Coast 41-33.
