Screaming Eagles Stop Turbeaus, 3-0

The bats were silent much of the day at Mercer Island Grounds. But Luis Macazaga conjured up just enough offense to carry the Screaming Eagles past the Gulf Coast Turbeaus, 3-0. Macazaga was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Masafumi Yoshino earned save number 4 this season. The Screaming Eagles are now 45-27, while the Turbeaus fall to 39-33.
Allen Dowiyogo drew 1 walk for Mercer Island. The 23-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With two out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring walk off Mario Rodríguez. It was his 8th walk of the season.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Mercer Island manager Ricardo Vargas.
