Squirrel Hill Gets 5-4 Road Win
Fans watched the Squirrel Hill Pierogis and the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks fight to the finish.

Behind a solid performance from second baseman Chris Jones, the Squirrel Hill Pierogis defeated the Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks, 5-4. Jones was 1-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Pierogis. Squirrel Hill pitcher David Cuevas got the win, upping his record to 4-0. Morgan Cartier got the loss.

Squirrel Hill used the timely hitting of Grant Hahn to seize the win. The left fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Pierogis on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Hahn called the triumph "a good team win."

The Pierogis, at 37-34, sit in 6th place in the Premier AA.
