Fighting Imps Go Down to Defeat, 11-3
Getting offensive support from Armando Merza, the Chesapeake Cangrejos Fantasmas topped the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 11-3. Merza was 1-2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Cangrejos Fantasmas. Chesapeake starter George Hill was credited with the win after throwing 96 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 4-3. Oliver Quested finished the game for Chesapeake and earned his 3rd save.

The Fighting Imps had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Cangrejos Fantasmas going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 23-year old second baseman Javier Laosa came to the plate. Laosa hit a 2-run double on a 2-0 fastball from Ithaca hurler Luis Martínez. It was Laosa's 8th double of the year.

"The boys came out and just played their butts off," said Chesapeake manager Dave Everett.

The Cangrejos Fantasmas saw their record improve to 37-29.
