Pierogis Pull Even With 3-2 Victory

The Squirrel Hill Pierogis got a stellar performance from pitcher Oliver Haddow, who handcuffed the Virginia Beach offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Field of the Rawhides. Haddow picked up the win for Squirrel Hill, going 6 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 5-5. Tetsu Gato earned the save for Squirrel Hill, his 11th of the year.
Jov Shantsev, the Squirrel Hill first baseman, contributed a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth inning to make the score 3-2, Pierogis. For the game, Shantsev was 1-3.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Virginia Beach manager Marv Bradford, "let me know."
With the win, Squirrel Hill upped its record to 32-32.
