The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks thumped the Yakima Hops, 8-0, at Thunder Hawks Ballpark. Joshua Sheppard was a big reason his team got the win. Sheppard went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Carlos Churen, the winner, improved to 1-5. He held Yakima to no runs on no hits over 5 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The Thunder Hawks improve their record to 27-27 with the win over Yakima.

The game turned with one out in the bottom of the fourth when Sheppard, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA in bases on balls with 32, hit a 2-run double. It propelled the Thunder Hawks into the lead, 2-0.
