The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles downed the Ithaca Fighting Imps, 9-5, at Imps Park. Jorge Gómez led the way, going 1-for-3 for Mercer Island. At 26-18, the Screaming Eagles are currently second in the Premier AA.

Mercer Island used a clutch hit from Koji Sugisata to snatch the win. The pinch hitter belted a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Screaming Eagles ahead, 6-5. It was his only hit, but it was huge.

"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Gómez told the Mercer Island Times.
