Turbeaus Top Thunder Hawks, 4-3
|
In the 4-3 Gulf Coast win over Ft. Polk South, the impact of Ken Hines was substantial. Hines, who is tied for 3rd in the PAA with a .426 on-base percentage, was 3 for 5 with a double, 2 singles, and 3 walks. With the win, Gulf Coast upped its record to 26-16.
The outcome might have been different for Gulf Coast, had it not been for Stefano Lippi, the 25-year old second baseman . Lippi stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 16th inning to put Gulf Coast up, 4-3. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
Ft. Polk South manager Mike Evans said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
