The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks beat the Yakima Hops, 5-4, at Hops Park. Armando Alonso, in particular, was impressive. He hit 2 home runs. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. Ft. Polk South reliever Teddy Barnes picked up the win to move to 4-1. Tim Kamen suffered the loss. The win elevated the Thunder Hawks to 18-18.

This game was not decided until Tynan Taylor came to bat in the top of the ninth. With runners on 1st and 3rd and one out, the Ft. Polk South pinch hitter hit a sacrifice fly. The Thunder Hawks took the lead, 5-4.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Ft. Polk South manager Mike Evans.
