Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Whales
Yakima got a big-time effort from pitcher Jason Helms, but it wasn't enough to keep the Virginia Beach Whales from winning the game, 5-3. Helms threw 7.1 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Virginia Beach currently is in 4th place in the Premier AA at 17-13.

Virginia Beach used the clutch hitting of Yosai Hayagawa to capture the win. The second baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Whales ahead, 5-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"We didn't go down without a fight," said Yakima manager Benjamin Baars.
