Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Fighting Imps
Jeffrey Sparks was a major contributor to the 4-2 Ithaca win over Ft. Polk South. The Fighting Imps shortstop went 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. The winner was Dewitt Page in relief. His record improves to 3-0. Vicente Valentín took the loss. Mario Méndez, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 7th save.

Sparks had a timely hit for Ithaca in the top of the ninth. With Ft. Polk South trailing 2-1, he turned a 0-1 sinker into a bases-clearing double. It was his 2nd double of the season, making it 4-2, Ithaca.

"We put together a nice win," Sparks said.

Ithaca, with the win, is 9-17.
