Late Magic Gets Ithaca 8-5 Win
The Ithaca Fighting Imps faced a tough opponent in Mercer Island pitcher Dave Pickett, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Mercer Island Grounds by a final score of 8-5. Pickett went 5 innings and allowed no runs. Reliever Dewitt Page picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Tashiaki Takahashi took the loss. Ithaca now sits in 8th place in the Premier AA at 7-14.

Ithaca used the timely hitting of Bob Hansen to seize the win. The catcher stroked a 2-run single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fighting Imps on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Hansen told the Ithaca Gazette: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
