Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Turbeaus
|
The Gulf Coast Turbeaus had to overcome a fine performance from Athletic Club KC Academy pitcher Matt Blair to grab a 3-2 win at KC Academy Field. Blair allowed no runs over 6.1 innings. Milo Clark earned the save, his 5th, for the Turbeaus. The win puts Gulf Coast at 11-9.
Runs were scarce in this one. So, Willie Norris's at-bat in the top of the ninth was vitally important. With two out, the Gulf Coast catcher drew a walk, driving in 1 run, to give his team a 3-2 lead.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Norris.
