Whales Take Nail-Biter Over Thunder Hawks
Ft. Polk South left fielder Andrew Brown had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Brown was 3 for 6 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2, even as Virginia Beach beat the Thunder Hawks, 4-3. With the win, Virginia Beach boosts its record to 13-7.

Virginia Beach won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With no outs and Nick Johnston on the mound for Ft. Polk South, third baseman Mibre Chipley hit a dramatic solo home run, bringing Whales fans to their feet.

"This is a resilient bunch," said Virginia Beach manager Marv Bradford.
