The New Orleans Voodoo topped the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 5-1, in United States Premier League action at Lang Park. The standout performance belonged to New Orleans pitcher and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, native Santiago Proximo. Amin Yahouse recorded his 10th save for New Orleans. New Orleans improves to 62-30 with the win. They lead their division by 6 games.

With runs few and far between, the Voodoo had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for New Orleans came in the top of the second inning, when catcher Jesús Vargas delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Yin-reng Fong and made the score 2-0, Voodoo. Vargas was 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.

"Santiago just went about his business, throwing strikes," said New Orleans manager Chase Sims.
