Thunder Hawks Lose to Screaming Eagles in Walk Off
The Ft. Polk South Thunder Hawks got a superb performance from pitcher Cristo Coronado, but the Mercer Island Screaming Eagles still won the game, 6-3. Coronado threw 6.0 innings of 2-hit ball. The winner was Masafumi Yoshino in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Dylan Ziersch took the loss. Mercer Island goes to 4-0.

Mercer Island won the game in the bottom of the tenth inning. With two outs and Dylan Ziersch on the mound for Ft. Polk South, catcher Lance Slaymaker hit a dramatic 3-run home run, bringing Screaming Eagles fans to their feet.

"I just try to go out and give it 100 percent every game," Slaymaker told a local reporter after the game. "That's my mantra, and like today, it will pay off more often than not."
