Patriots Bridle Kingfishers, 4-3
|
The Boston Patriots did just enough to sneak past the Pittsburgh Kingfishers, 4-3, at Dunkin Donuts Park. Boston pitcher César Pinto, in particular, had a standout performance. Picking up the save was Martin Luther, his 6th. At 43-48, the Patriots are currently 6th in the Premier League.
Emílio Rey had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Boston. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Boston in front, 4-2.
"César -- his tempo and rhythm were good," said Patriots manager Tyler Carter. "He was the key to us winning."
