Screaming Eagles Sink Fighting Imps, 3-1

The Mercer Island Screaming Eagles got a magnificent performance from pitcher Geoffrey Da Costa, who muffled the Ithaca offense en route to a tight 3-1 Screaming Eagles win at Mercer Island Grounds. The save was credited to Stuart Fossett, his 1st. Mercer Island goes to 3-0.
Mercer Island grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases empty, Jorge Gómez delivered a solo home run, to make it 2-1 in favor of the Screaming Eagles.
"We had a good game plan," Da Costa said, "and we were able to execute it."
