Athletic Club KC Academy Win 2-1 Walk-Off

Crowds lined up early in front of KC Academy Field, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2052 USPL Double A season. On the mound was Jacob Cox for the visiting Squirrel Hill Pierogis and Richie Lems for the hometown Athletic Club KC Academy. In a spirited contest, the Athletic Club KC Academy pulled out the win, defeating the Pierogis by the score of 2-1. Especially impressive was Jacob Cox. Athletic Club KC Academy pitcher Nalle Sijne got the win. He's now 1-0. Richard McCord was tagged with the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Athletic Club KC Academy first baseman Ramón Cervantes, facing Richard McCord, had a run-scoring walk. It gave the Athletic Club KC Academy the 2-1 win.
"This place was rockin'," said Cervantes.
