The St. Petersburg Thunder defeated the Pine Island Dolphins, 4-2, in USSL Double A action at Baby Thunder Dome. St. Petersburg pitcher Manuel Villalobos had a standout performance. The win was credited to Larry Austin in relief. His record improves to 2-3. Benjamin Crump took the loss. The 6th-place Thunder go to 46-50.

St. Petersburg took a 3-2 lead on César Alaniz's 2nd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Alaniz hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Pine Island pitcher Benjamin Crump shaking his head.

"There's still time to turn this season around," said Alaniz.
