Riikonen Powers Guinea Pigs to 7-6 Win
In a tight contest at Experimental Stadium, the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs edged the Pine Island Dolphins by the score of 7-6. Gwinnett first baseman Ahti Riikonen, who blasted 2 home runs, was a key contributor. Jorge García, credited with the win, is now 6-2. He allowed no runs on no hits. Rex Davis picked up the save for Gwinnett, his 18th of the year.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Dale Wallace came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Pine Island pitcher Pie-qi Huang, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Gwinnett on top, 7-6.

"I like the roll we're on right now," said Riikonen after the game.
