Highlanders Topple Blues, 5-4

The Asheville Highlanders took Barton Springs pitcher Herman Clayton's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Asheville Park. The final score had Asheville getting past the Blues, 5-4. Clayton went 7.1 innings and allowed 5 runs, striking out 5. Asheville reliever John Banks picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Herman Clayton shouldered the loss. Asheville, at 56-37, sits in first place in the Silver AA.
Asheville took a 4-3 lead on Juan Guzmán's 8th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Guzmán hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Barton Springs pitcher Herman Clayton visibly frustrated.
"We found a way to get it done," Guzmán said.
