84s Stumble, Lose to Voodoo
The New Orleans Voodoo relied on the hitting of center fielder Anthony Roosemont to stop the Greenville 84s, 11-2. For the game, Roosemont was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Huibert Illidge, the winner, improved to 11-5. He held the 84s to 2 runs on 1 hit over 6 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 2. Bill Lawrence closed the game out for New Orleans, earning his 4th save.

The 84s had been locked in a 1-1 tie with the Voodoo going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the slugging right fielder Francisco De La Cruz came to the plate. De La Cruz hit a run-scoring double on a 1-0 fastball from Greenville hurler Claudio Gonzáles. It was De La Cruz's 17th double of the year.
