Guinea Pigs Fell Love Boats, 10-7

The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs defeated the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 10-7, in USSL Double A action at Experimental Stadium. Gwinnett pitcher Alan Gilbert had a standout performance. Gilbert, now 5-5, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 3 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. The Guinea Pigs, at 37-35, sit in 4th place in the Silver AA.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Guinea Pigs took a 4-2 lead when David Jones drew a walk, driving in 1 run.
"We got the victory," said Jones. "That's all that matters at the end of the day."
