Kramer Helps Guinea Pigs Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Gwinnett Guinea Pigs thumped the Bethesda Atoms, 9-1, at Experimental Stadium. Dave Kramer was a big reason his team got the win. Kramer went 4-4 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Daisuke Yoshikawa, the winner, improved to 7-5. He held the Atoms to 1 run on 2 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. The 5th-place Guinea Pigs have won 5 in a row.
Dale Wallace dealt the Atoms a blow in the bottom of the second. Batting with the bases loaded and Gwinnett leading 2-1, Wallace, who is tied for 2nd in the SAA in triples with 3, hit a full count fastball for a run-scoring single.
"As well as we've been playing, I think we can play even better," said Gwinnett manager William Edens.
