Blues Defeat Polar Bears, 5-1

The Barton Springs Blues took Billings pitcher Cole Dawes's best shot and still were able to claim a win at The Igloo. The final score had Barton Springs getting past the Polar Bears, 5-1. Dawes went 6 innings and allowed 2 runs, striking out 4. Katsunosuki Hirayama, now 3-0, was credited with the win. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 2. Joe Anthony locked down his 4th save.
With one out in the top of the seventh, Peer Koldijk had a game-changing hit. The Blues center fielder slammed a run-scoring single off Benton Johnston, making the score 2-0, Barton Springs.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Koldijk.
The Blues improve their record to 30-26 with the win over Billings.
