Polar Bears Curb Blues, 3-1
|
The Billings Polar Bears beat the Barton Springs Blues, 3-1. Billings pitcher and Busan, South Korea, native Joo-il Pak led the way. Bob Robinson earned the save, his 3rd, for the Polar Bears. The Polar Bears saw their win-loss record go to 28-27. At the same time, the Blues fell to 29-26.
The Polar Bears got an important contribution from second baseman Marty Brandt, who in the bottom of the fourth hit a changeup into right-center for a run-scoring double. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Polar Bears ahead, 2-0.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Brandt said after the game.
