Atoms Suffer 10-7 Setback
The Olympia Ogres beat the Bethesda Atoms by a score of 10-7. Olympia designated hitter António Méndez deserved the lion's share of the credit. Méndez was 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Ogres. The win was credited to Ken Milligan in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Tuomi Hattunen took the loss. Olympia is now 23-28, while Bethesda is 28-23.

Jung-heum Kim hit a 2-run double off Edgar Hernández in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Ogres in front, 7-5. In addition to the double, Kim had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.

Ogres manager Steve Ward wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
