Pilgrims Dump Love Boats, 4-0

The Providence Pilgrims topped the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats, 4-0, in USSL Double A action at Heron Field. The standout performance belonged to Providence pitcher and Willemstad, Curaçao, native Alje Anraad. Anraad, now 5-4, was the winner. In 5.1 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 6, walking 0, and allowing no runs. With the win, Providence goes to 28-22, while the Love Boats fall to 23-27.
With runs few and far between, the Pilgrims had to seize their opportunities when they came. One of the most important chances for Providence came in the top of the fifth inning, when center fielder Juan Ramírez delivered a 2-run single. The single was hit off Cisco Morales and made the score 2-0, Pilgrims. Ramírez was 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager William Smith.
