The Barton Springs Blues faced a tough opponent in Gwinnett pitcher Caden Hickman, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Experimental Stadium by a final score of 3-1. Hickman went 6.2 innings and allowed 1 run. The victory gives Barton Springs a record of 26-23.
Barton Springs relied on the bat of Jimmy Dreux to get the win. The third baseman ripped a 2-run triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Blues ahead, 3-1. For the game, Dreux had 1 double and 1 triple in 4 at-bats.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Barton Springs manager Joe Kehoe said.
