Atoms Deal Dolphins 4-1 Defeat
|
Bethesda starter Júlio Rocho put a stranglehold on the Pine Island offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Atoms to a 4-1 win. Rocho, now 5-4, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 4 hits, while striking out 9, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The first-place Atoms have a one-game lead in their division.
The Atoms got a big hit from right fielder Matt Turner. In the bottom of the fifth, Turner pounded a run-scoring double to center. His 6th double of the season put the Atoms ahead, 3-1.
"Throwing strikes was the main thing," Rocho said.
