Bullets Slap 2-1 Loss on Mockingbirds
|
The Baltimore Bullets got a magnificent performance from pitcher Augusto Alfonzo, who muffled the Mississippi offense en route to a tight 2-1 Bullets win at Magnolia Park. Thomas Rice recorded the save for Baltimore, his 11th of the season. Baltimore, with the win, sits at 27-57.
Tied up with the Mockingbirds in the top of the fifth inning, the Bullets got a boost from center fielder Jorge Rocha. With runners on 1st and 2nd, Rocha saw a 2-1 curveball from Alfredo Rincón and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put Baltimore on top, 2-1.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Mississippi manager Beau Carsten. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
