Highlanders 1B Segar goes 4-for-4 in Win
Behind a fine performance from Evan Segar, the Asheville Highlanders knocked off the Barton Springs Blues, 8-2. Segar went 4-4 with a home run, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 4 for the Highlanders. David Guerra, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held the Blues to 2 runs on 6 hits over 5.1 innings, while striking out 7 and walking 0. Chong-yee Galván closed it out for his 1st save.

With Asheville leading 3-1 in the top of the fifth, Segar came up to bat against Barton Springs pitcher Chris Thompson. Segar hit a knuckle curve to left for a 2-run double. His 7th double of the season put the Highlanders on top, 5-1.

"We'll keep our chins up and get ready for the next game," said losing manager Joe Kehoe.

Asheville, at 17-21, occupies last place in the Silver AA.
