St. Petersburg rode a good effort from starter Iván Ferreira to beat the Olympia Ogres at The Ogre Den. The final score was 3-2. Jorge Ortíz, credited with the win, is now 2-0. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits. The save was credited to Michael Pace, his 6th.
In the top of the seventh, St. Petersburg third baseman Jay Fuller hit a run-scoring single to center field. The clutch hit made it, 3-2, Thunder.
"Iván was pounding the zone," said St. Petersburg manager Emílio Sáenz.
