Asheville Park was the site of an exciting ballgame between the St. Petersburg Thunder and Asheville Highlanders.

The Thunder grabbed a win, 3-2, at Asheville Park, overcoming a fine effort from Asheville pitcher Elvin Olson. Olson went 5.2 innings and allowed 2 runs. With the win, the Thunder improved to 10-16.

St. Petersburg took a 3-2 lead on Ta-kai You's 1st home run of the season. The solo home run came off Asheville pitcher Chong-yee Galván in the top of the seventh.
