The Pine Island Dolphins handed the Gwinnett Guinea Pigs a loss at Experimental Stadium. The final score was 6-5. Major production was provided by Erik Willard for Pine Island. In addition to his 2 singles and 1 home run, he scored 2 runs and drove in 2. He also added 1 walk. Lawrence Anderson got the win, improving to 2-0. He held the Guinea Pigs to 2 runs on 4 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 4 and walking 6. Pie-qi Huang sewed up the save, his 5th.
Having an impact for Pine Island was Joe Horne. In the top of the third inning, the 26-year old second baseman had a run-scoring ground out to make the score 6-1, Dolphins.
Horne said afterward that "winning is what it's all about."
With the victory, the Dolphins record now stands at 9-12.
