Pilgrims Earn 1-0 Road Win Over Asheville
|
Providence starter Choon-mo Kim put a stranglehold on the Asheville offense. The right-hander had complete command of his fastball in leading the Pilgrims to a 1-0 win. Kim went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 2, and struck out 3. His record improves to 2-1. The win leaves Providence with a record of 9-11.
Providence took the lead in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 3rd, Masakado Yoshida stroked a run-scoring single to make it 1-0, Pilgrims.
"I like the grit of this ballclub," Yoshida said.
