Bethesda Atoms starter Bill Cole was in fine form against the Lake Minnetonka Love Boats at Heron Field, leading his team to a win, 6-4. Cole got the win, improving to 2-0. He allowed 5 hits and walked 1 over 7 innings. Cole allowed no runs. The Atoms, now 15-4, have played some good baseball in the early going.
The result might have been different for Bethesda, had it not been for Randolph White, the 23-year old shortstop . White stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put Bethesda up, 6-0. For the game, he had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"We had a good game plan," Cole said, "and we were able to execute it."
