Put-In-Bay right fielder Sam White had a good game in a losing cause. His team fell, 9-3, to Washington at Washington Park. White was 3 for 4 with 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice. Put-In-Bay is 2-1 after the loss.

The Generals got an important contribution from second baseman Mike McDowell, who in the bottom of the third knocked a first pitch fastball into center for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Generals ahead, 3-2.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," McDowell told a Washington Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
